Gadar 2 Makes History: First Film to be Screened at Parliament for Lok Sabha Members

In an unprecedented move, the Lok Sabha members of the Parliament will have the opportunity to watch the highly anticipated film Gadar 2. This special screening showcases the immense popularity and cultural significance of the film, which is a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar : Ek Prem Katha.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. The film has received tremendous acclaim for its patriotic theme and thrilling action sequences. Within just two weeks, Gadar 2 has managed to gross over Rs 400 crore at the box office, making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Not only has Gadar 2 seen phenomenal success at the box office, but it has also created history by surpassing the Rs 400 crore mark. The production banner Zee Studios proudly announced that Gadar 2 collected Rs 12.10 crore on Tuesday, resulting in a total box office collection of Rs 400.70 crore net. The film’s remarkable achievement has set a new benchmark by amassing over Rs 10 crores net on its second weekdays, a feat no other Indian film has accomplished before.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that Gadar 2 wreaked havoc at the box office, with its second week earnings exceeding Rs 419 crore. This astonishing figure demonstrates the film’s massive popularity and audience appeal.

Set against the backdrop of 1971, Gadar 2 narrates the compelling journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who travels to Pakistan to save his son, Charanjeet Singh (played by Utkarsh Sharma), from the clutches of the Pakistani Army. Alongside Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film also features Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra, delivering stellar performances.
