Popular Tamil actor and director G Marimuthu, known for his bold opinions and YouTube presence, passed away at the age of 58 today, September 8. Marimuthu was dubbing for his television show titled ‘Ethir Neechal’ when he collapsed and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Marimuthu had recently gained attention for his role as one of the villains’ sidekicks in the film ‘Jailer‘ alongside Rajinikanth. He had a successful career as a filmmaker, starting with his debut ‘Kannum Kannum‘ in 2008. Apart from directing, he also played various character roles in Tamil cinema and worked closely with lyricist Vairamuthu in the early days of his career.
The news of Marimuthu’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the industry and social media, where he was known for his viral reels from his TV show. His body is currently at a hospital in Chennai, and later it will be taken to his hometown Theni for the final rites. His co-actors from ‘Ethir Neechal’ have expressed their grief and rushed to the hospital.
Marimuthu leaves behind his wife and two children. His unexpected death has left fans and the Tamil film fraternity mourning the loss of a talented actor and director.
