Sun Pictures, the producers of the Rajinikanth starrer film Jailer, have given an assurance to the Delhi High Court that they will digitally alter clippings of the movie showing a contract killer wearing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricket team jersey.
The decision to edit the scene comes after RCB raised objections to the negative depiction of the jersey in the film. The team contended that the scene where a contract killer is seen wearing the RCB jersey and making derogatory and misogynistic statements about a lady could dilute and disparage the RCB brand, as well as hurt the rights of its sponsors
The producers, in response, stated that the editing would be done before the release of the movie on television, satellite, or any Over-The-Top (OTT) platform. The alteration in the theatrical mode will be completed by September 1.
During the hearing, the counsel representing both sides informed the Court that they have reached a resolution and agreed to digitally alter the scene to address the concerns raised by RCB.
